Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rite II:<\/strong><br>God of grace and might, who gave to your servants&nbsp;Aquila and Priscilla gifts of zeal and eloquence to make&nbsp;known the truth of the Gospel: Raise up, we pray, in every&nbsp;country, heralds and evangelists of your kingdom, so&nbsp;that the world may know the immeasurable riches of our&nbsp;Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the&nbsp;Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First Lesson:<\/strong> Acts 18:1\u20134, 18\u201321, 24\u201328<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>&nbsp;After this Paul&nbsp;left Athens and went to Corinth.&nbsp;<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;There he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome. Paul&nbsp;went to see them,&nbsp;<sup>3<\/sup>&nbsp;and, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them, and they worked together\u2014by trade they were tentmakers.&nbsp;<sup>4<\/sup>&nbsp;Every sabbath he would argue in the synagogue and would try to convince Jews and Greeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>18<\/sup>&nbsp;After staying there for a considerable time, Paul said farewell to the believers&nbsp;and sailed for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. At Cenchreae he had his hair cut, for he was under a vow.&nbsp;<sup>19<\/sup>&nbsp;When they reached Ephesus, he left them there, but first he himself went into the synagogue and had a discussion with the Jews.&nbsp;<sup>20<\/sup>&nbsp;When they asked him to stay longer, he declined;&nbsp;21&nbsp;but on taking leave of them, he said, \u2018I&nbsp;will return to you, if God wills.\u2019 Then he set sail from Ephesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>24<\/sup>&nbsp;Now there came to Ephesus a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria. He was an eloquent man, well-versed in the scriptures.&nbsp;<sup>25<\/sup>&nbsp;He had been instructed in the Way of the Lord; and he spoke with burning enthusiasm and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.&nbsp;<sup>26<\/sup>&nbsp;He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained the Way of God to him more accurately.&nbsp;<sup>27<\/sup>&nbsp;And when he wished to cross over to Achaia, the believers&nbsp;encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. On his arrival he greatly helped those who through grace had become believers,&nbsp;<sup>28<\/sup>&nbsp;for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the scriptures that the Messiah&nbsp;is Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Psalm:<\/strong> Psalm 119:33\u201340<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>33<\/sup> Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;and I shall keep it to the end.<br>\n<sup>34<\/sup> Give me understanding, and I shall keep your law; *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;I shall keep it with all my heart.<br>\n<sup>35<\/sup> Make me go in the path of your commandments, *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;for that is my desire.<br>\n<sup>36<\/sup> Incline my heart to your decrees *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;and not to unjust gain.<br>\n<sup>37<\/sup> Turn my eyes from watching what is worthless; *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;give me life in your ways.<br>\n<sup>38<\/sup> Fulfill your promise to your servant, *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;which you make to those who fear you.<br>\n<sup>39<\/sup> Turn away the reproach which I dread, *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;because your judgments are good.<br>\n<sup>40<\/sup> Behold, I long for your commandments; *<br>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;in your righteousness preserve my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gospel:<\/strong> Luke 24:28\u201335<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>28<\/sup>As they came near the village to which they were going, he walked ahead as if he were going on.&nbsp;<sup>29<\/sup>But they urged him strongly, saying, \u2018Stay with us, because it is almost evening and the day is now nearly over.\u2019 So he went in to stay with them.&nbsp;<sup>30<\/sup>When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.&nbsp;<sup>31<\/sup>Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.&nbsp;<sup>32<\/sup>They said to each other, \u2018Were not our hearts burning within us&nbsp;while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?\u2019&nbsp;<sup>33<\/sup>That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven and their companions gathered together.&nbsp;<sup>34<\/sup>They were saying, \u2018The Lord has risen indeed, and he has appeared to Simon!\u2019&nbsp;<sup>35<\/sup>Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he had been made known to them in the breaking of the
