Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rite II:<\/strong><br>Almighty God, who called Ignatius of Loyola to the service of your Divine Majesty and to seek you in all things; Give us also the grace to labor without counting the cost and to seek no reward other than knowing that we do your will; through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First Lesson:<\/strong> Genesis 32:22\u201331<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>22<\/sup>The same night he got up and took his two wives, his two maids, and his eleven children, and crossed the ford of the Jabbok.&nbsp;<sup>23<\/sup>He took them and sent them across the stream, and likewise everything that he had. <sup>24<\/sup>Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. <sup>25<\/sup>When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he struck him on the hip socket; and Jacob\u2019s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.&nbsp;<sup>26<\/sup>Then he said, \u2018Let me go, for the day is breaking.\u2019 But Jacob said, \u2018I will not let you go, unless you bless me.\u2019&nbsp;<sup>27<\/sup>So he said to him, \u2018What is your name?\u2019 And he said, \u2018Jacob.\u2019&nbsp;<sup>28<\/sup>Then the man&nbsp;said, \u2018You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel,&nbsp;for you have striven with God and with humans,&nbsp;and have prevailed.\u2019&nbsp;<sup>29<\/sup>Then Jacob asked him, \u2018Please tell me your name.\u2019 But he said, \u2018Why is it that you ask my name?\u2019 And there he blessed him.&nbsp;<sup>30<\/sup>So Jacob called the place Peniel,&nbsp;saying, \u2018For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life is preserved.\u2019&nbsp;<sup>31<\/sup>The sun rose upon him as he passed Penuel, limping because of his hip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Psalm:<\/strong> Psalm 34:1-8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1 <\/sup>I will bless the Lord at all times; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; his praise shall ever be in my mouth.<br>\n<sup>2 <\/sup>I will glory in the Lord; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; let the humble hear and rejoice.<br>\n<sup>3 <\/sup>Proclaim with me the greatness of the Lord; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; let us exalt his Name together.<br>\n<sup>4 <\/sup>I sought the Lord, and he answered me *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and delivered me out of all my terror.<br>\n<sup>5 <\/sup>Look upon him and be radiant, *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and let not your faces be ashamed.<br>\n<sup>6 <\/sup>I called in my affliction and the Lord heard me *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and saved me from all my troubles.<br>\n<sup>7 <\/sup>The angel of the Lord encompasses those who fear him, *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and he will deliver them.<br>\n<sup>8 <\/sup>Taste and see that the Lord is good; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; happy are they who trust in him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gospel:<\/strong> Luke 9:57-62<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>57&nbsp;<\/sup>As they were going along the road, someone said to him, \u2018I will follow you wherever you go.\u2019 <sup>58<\/sup>And Jesus said to him, \u2018Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.\u2019 <sup>59<\/sup>To another he said, \u2018Follow me.\u2019 But he said, \u2018Lord, first let me go and bury my father.\u2019 <sup>60<\/sup>But Jesus<a><sup>*<\/sup><\/a> said to him, \u2018Let the dead bury their own dead;
