Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rite II:<\/strong><br>Almighty God, heavenly Father, we remember in thanksgiving this day the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary; and we pray that we all may be made one in the heavenly family of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Old Testament:<\/strong> Genesis 17:1-8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, \u2018I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. <sup>2<\/sup>And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous.\u2019 <sup>3<\/sup>Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him, <sup>4<\/sup>\u2018As for me, this is my covenant with you: You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. <sup>5<\/sup>No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nations. <sup>6<\/sup>I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. <sup>7<\/sup>I will establish my covenant between me and you, and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. <sup>8<\/sup>And I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are now an alien, all the land of Canaan, for a perpetual holding; and I will be their God.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Psalm:<\/strong> Psalm 132:11-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>11 <\/sup>The Lord has sworn an oath to David; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; in truth, he will not break it:<br>\n<sup>12 <\/sup>\u201cA son, the fruit of your body *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; will I set upon your throne.<br>\n<sup>13 <\/sup>If your children keep my covenant<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp; and my testimonies that I shall teach them, *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; their children will sit upon your throne for evermore.\u201d<br>\n<sup>14 <\/sup>For the Lord has chosen Zion; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; he has desired her for his habitation:<br>\n<sup>15 <\/sup>\u201cThis shall be my resting-place for ever; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; here will I dwell, for I delight in her.<br>\n<sup>16 <\/sup>I will surely bless her provisions, *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and satisfy her poor with bread.<br>\n<sup>17 <\/sup>I will clothe her priests with salvation, *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and her faithful people will rejoice and sing.<br>\n<sup>18 <\/sup>There will I make the horn of David flourish; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I have prepared a lamp for my Anointed.<br>\n<sup>19 <\/sup>As for his enemies, I will clothe them with shame; *<br>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; but as for him, his crown will shine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gospel:<\/strong> Luke 1:26-33<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>26&nbsp;<\/sup>In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, <sup>27<\/sup>to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin\u2019s name was Mary. <sup>28<\/sup>And he came to her and said, \u2018Greetings, favoured one!
