The Book of Common Prayer (or BCP<\/em>) is the Episcopal Church\u2019s resource for our life together. Descended from the Church of England\u2019s text of the same name, the book is a hallmark of Anglican worship and spirituality, containing a treasure trove of prayers for groups and individuals, ceremonies, worship services (or rites)<\/em>, psalms, historical documents of the Church, and much more, in both contemporary and traditional language. It is the source of our Sunday worship, our daily prayers, our calendar, and our catechism, all of which point us in unity toward the worship of our loving, liberating, and life-giving God, who has \u201cbound us together in a common life\u201d (BCP<\/em>, p. 824).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
